Radiotherapy & Radiosurgery
Stereotactic Radiotherapy / Radiosurgery is used to treat more than half of all people with cancer. Radiation therapy and stereotactic surgery at PET Technology is performed on top-of-the-line TrueBeam and Halcyon Linear accelerators in the following areas:
  • Neoadjuvant therapy. Before surgery to shrink the tumor in volume;
  • Adjuvant therapy. After surgery to stop the growth of cells that may have remained in the body;
  • Intraoperative radiation (IORT). During surgery, so that the rays are delivered directly to the tumor, allowing an increased dose of radiation to be delivered to the tumor area with minimal harm to nearby healthy tissue.
PET Technology's radiotherapists are also fluent in CyberKnife for the treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors, as well as some benign (non-cancerous) tumors. Every year 400 patients receive this treatment at one of our medical centers.
